Wheel throwing Taster Session 1.5hrs

Are you a fan of The Great Pottery Throwdown and you'd like to have a try for yourself, then join Christine on this introduction to the pottery wheel session. In this 1.5 hour wheel throwing workshop you will learn what it's like to have a go at throwing and you won't need to present your finished pieces to any judges! In this session you'll be given a demonstration by Christine, then be assigned individual wheels so that you can try all you've just been shown. You'll be shown the basic steps to creating a pot on the wheel and be given three balls of pre-prepared clay. This will allow you to begin throwing, immediately. Christine will be on hand throughout the remainder of the session to offer practical tips and guidance. At the end of your session you'll choose your favourite thrown pot, then choose a glaze from a selection provided. Your pot will then be taken back to Christine's studio. Once dry it will be fired and glazed, (Included in the price of this workshop) and can be collected at a later date. (Or, for a small additional cost, your piece can be posted back to you.) This course is for people aged 16 and over. Please wear clothes that you are happy to get dirty. Remove jewelry. Long hair must be tied back when wheel throwing. *NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE FITTED WITH A PACEMAKER*
